SPARTA was founded by researchers who first met while studying the MSc in Sports and Exercise Nutrition at the University of Chichester. Since then, we have continued to collaborate across a range of research projects, combining our expertise to advance sports nutrition and behaviour change research.
Based across England and Spain, we work closely with sports clubs, gyms, athletes, practitioners, and organisations, enabling us to conduct research in both elite and grassroots sporting environments.
We leave no stone unturned when it comes to research quality. We secure country-specific ethical approval, clinical trial registration, as well as using scientifically validated methods and robust statistical analysis methodology.
We investigate how nutrition can optimise recovery and performance, from dietary assessment and nutrition strategies to evidence-based supplementation.
Our group is qualified in behaviour change science and evaluating interventions that promote sustainable changes in nutrition.
We incorporate a wide range of physiological biomarkers to assess performance and recovery. We have partnered with state-of-the-art laboratory to facilitate this in our research.
